Teri Garr admits to MS

I always enjoyed Teri Garr's movies. I'm sorry to hear that she has MS

I have found a cure for MS--if anybody can contact Ms. Garr, please do so. The item is coral calcium--many people with MS have used this inexpensive mineral and have had splendid results. In less than 4-5 weeks all symptons have disappeared. They're out of their wheelchairs and running 5 miles a day! My phone # is 408-858-8475 (cell) or 408-247-0774 (office). Wayne

I too, have always liked Teri Garr's acting.
I too, was diagnosed with MS 10 years ago.
Ms. Garr has admitted that she is afraid that she will not get work and this is why she downplays her MS. She also suffers from only a limp. This is a comparatively mild case of MS.
As an MS patient I take offense to her light hearted approach. She is minimizing the plight of most patients who are not as fortunate as she. My doctor, one of the best in the world, has told me that he is amazed at the level I am functioning on because my MRI shows a lot of disease and he can't guarantee that I will not end up in a wheelchair. Many MS patients are homebound disabled.

As a so-called spokesperson for MS she is doing a disservice by espousing self-serving and incorrect information. Part of a spokesperson's responsibility is to raise awareness of the disease in order to increase funding for medical research. Ms. Garr needs to become better informed about this disease if she is continue in this capacity.

She has said that MS does not affect the brain and that is not true. MS is a degenerative disease of the central nervous system affecting the brain and spine. This is evidenced by lesions or scars in both locations. Brain atrophy or shrinkage may also occur.

Hopefully, Ms. Garr will see this message and not be so self-serving when so many others are suffering.
